Dr. Justin Anderson, MBA, PhD, is MMR Strategy Group’s Senior Vice President, with expertise in advertising claim substantiation, intellectual property litigation, and marketing research. Prior to joining MMR Strategy Group as a research director, he held prominent executive-level positions advising private corporations, and in academia, instructing at the masters and undergraduate levels at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and the University of Southern California.
Since joining MMR in 2014, Dr. Anderson has personally designed and conducted numerous surveys on a variety of topics, including likelihood of confusion. He regularly provides expert reports and/or testimony at deposition or trial on survey topics, before federal and state courts and other decision-making bodies. Dr. Anderson contributes to industry panels and presents research at conferences for organizations including the American Marketing Association and the International Trademark Association (INTA).
Dr. Anderson has been retained as an expert in dozens of intellectual property litigation and false advertising matters, conducting litigation surveys and providing rebuttals to surveys performed by opposing experts. He has testified at trial or deposition before a variety of venues, including federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
