MMR Strategy Group welcomes its new Senior Research Manager, Trudy Horsting. Ms. Horsting brings specific experience in political science, public opinion, and political communication, in addition to expertise in survey research.
Ms. Horsting earned an M.A. in Political Science from Arizona State University School of Politics and Global Studies, with a focus on American politics. She is in the process of completing a Ph.D. in Political Science at Arizona State University and will defend her dissertation, titled “Do Actions Speak Louder Than Words? Exploring the Influence of Informal and Impromptu Political Rhetoric on Twitter During Crisis” in the spring of 2024. Her research interests include media in politics, public opinion, and the role of political discourse on social media in shaping political behavior.
Prior to joining MMR, Ms. Horsting was the Manager of Market Research and Content at Dosii, facilitating data collection and the production of informational content. For four years she has worked in the Arizona State University School of Politics and Global Studies Experimental Lab designing, programming, and facilitating an array of surveys. Ms. Horsting has published articles in American Politics Research and the Journal of Political Marketing, in addition to a book chapter with Edward Elgar Publishers. She is a recipient of numerous grants and awards recognizing her outstanding research.
